My design work, language teaching, song and dance composition, painting, carving and tattooing all lead back to the underlying practices of Indigenous resistance, activism, and perpetuation of traditional Native life ways and practices. I am the only Tlingit in my tribe who tattoos only traditional forms and thus have had to initiate the revival of our customary practice of skin stitching, and hand poke tattoos. My goal is to be a culturally responsible tattoo artist that re-impowers  my people back into wearing our design work with pride and a newfound sense of duty and dedication to family, clan, culture, self, community and environment.
